So…how does CST work?
CST is an individual-to-yourself roller system which produces thousands of micro-needle columns in the skin. A bit like a miniature lawn aerator! Each tiny micro-needle will penetrate into the dermis of the skin to a depth of 1.5mm & as your skin is ‘rollered’ these micro-needles pop in & out of the skin. The miniature columns/holes created close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often in the same day.
What will I look like afterwards?
Immediately afterwards your skin will feel hot, as if it is sunburned. Expect this to last for a few hours. This feeling will gradually calm and the initial redness subsides to a healthy pinkiness. By the next day the pinkiness should have disappeared completely. Over the next few days your skin may feel quite dry & tight & can get quite flaky. This is all completely normal. Within 4-5 days your skin will have taken on a healthy firmness & will have started to glow with health!
What happens next?
After a CST procedure your skin will start to naturally regenerate and repair itself, working below the surface in the dermis. This can take time. New collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. Although your skin will start looking better & healthier within a few days, it can take up to a month/6 weeks before the full signs of regeneration and repair are seen. This incredible process continues over the following months, providing you with better and better skin tone & texture.
Do I have just one CST Treatment?
Some of our clients have been delighted with just the one treatment, but for best results we recommend a course of three treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Sometimes if we decide to focus on a particular area of scarring or stretch marks then six treatments will be needed.
Is this a new treatment?
Actually no. Dr. Des Fernandes of Environ fame first developed it way back in 1997. This is why we have such good ‘before & after’ photo’s. Some of the ‘afters’ are years since the initial treatment was carried out by Dr. Fernandes.
Is it painful?
No! We’re kind to our clients. We use a fabulous numbing cream to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. For a full treatment the numbing cream is applied & left on for about 60 minutes. Total chill-out time for you.
Who carries out this treatment?
Tina, our resident Surgical Electrologist & Medical Aesthetician.
She has many, many years of experience in her field, is fully qualified,certified & licenced. For any Derma-Roller/Needling treatments you should always check that these three standards are in place. If not, walk away.
